Fire-Eater

from First Night on Earth by Craig H

/

lyrics

A gin away from bitter
Sucking on a citrus rind
Time is keeping its own council
Who the hell needs time
Drinking down the cold to quell
The fire eater heart in me
Hope is running free and easy
Over my terrain unseasonably

Flashes of the night before
All these little casualties
A warzone a dark guest room
A little space to breathe

Escape routes are the easy way
I love how I can move through them
And count every single way you change
Within a hanging frame
All resentment melts away
As easy as the ice I roll
Upon my fire eater tongue
These disasters take their toll
